So here it goes.. I was on a customer site looking into a VMware View USB device issue they could not get resolved.
This issue was the pass though of a USB Gemalto smart card reader device from a Teradici zero client to a VMware View Windows 7 desktop.
Whenever this device was plugged into the zero client - either before power on, before logging in or while connected to the virtual desktop the correct expected device was not being passed through to the desktop.
This is a guide to removing the Cisco Nexus 1000V DVS and VSM virtual machine cleanly from your hosts and vCenter Server.
DO NOT TRY TO DELETE THE NEXUS DVS OR VSM VM DIRECTLY!! This needs to be performed in a specific way (very strightforward when you know how), the DVS is removed via the the Nexus VSM so this is the last part to be deleted - Don't do it first!
VMware have just announced the GA of View 5.1, you can head over to VMware.com and download it right now to upgrade your existing View deployment to the latest release.
